“The Yellow Emperors Classic Internal Medicine” manuscript is the oldest written text that presents acupuncture points. The book is dated A.D. 100, and incorporates Chinese medical knowledge accumulated up to that time.
Acupuncture points lie along 14 different meridians. Meridians are channels that course up and down the body in a general vertical orientation. Consider that there are 670 points along these meridians on both sides of the body. In addition, there are numerous points that are not on these meridians.
These points make up a medical treatment model that has been around for thousands of years. The model is complicated yet can be simplified for people to use to treat themselves. My upcoming book seeks to provide knowledge to be able to do just that.
